While many companies might feel remote working due to the current coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on their employees’ productivity, CapitalVia Global Research Limited does not feel the same.
“Our per employee productivity has become 1.5 times more than what it use to be..” says Prem Prakash, CEO at CapitalVia Global Research Limited as he also talks about how the company is ready to grab new opportunities in the near future.
Monday Ready (MR): How has your organization embraced the current situation of COVID-19?
Prem Prakash (PP): We deal with our prospects through an online mechanism. WFH during the COVID-19 situation has actually made our work a bit difficult as our business requires it to be happening in the controlled environment, which is a bit difficult to ensure when the team is scattered. However, through the use of technology, we have almost created a similar environment as it used to be while working at the office premises.

Our customers are happy getting better support and handholding. We are now thinking of making it a 40% permanent WFH kind of mechanism.
Monday Ready (MR): How is the organization evaluating the employee’s productivity and engagement during remote working?
Prem Prakash (PP): Our per employee productivity has become 1.5 times more than what it used to be before the 23rd of March 2020. One of the reasons which we have witnessed is that people out there ( Employee and customers) are getting more time now than what it used to be earlier. As a result, it is coming out with better productivity.

Monday Ready (MR): What are the top 3-5 KPIs being used in your organization to evaluate employee performance?
Prem Prakash (PP):
- Daily Run Rate. the monthly numbers are divided by 22 working days and one has to meet his/ her daily RRR.
- Upskilling score: One has to go through at least 2 or more training upskilling programs to be relevant.
- Cline treats: Ensure 80% repeats / renewals from clients.
- Getting 9/10 or more from the clients during independent C-sat survey
Monday Ready (MR): What are your views on the need for a Continual/Periodic Employee Review system as compared to the generally followed Annual or Bi-Annual Employee Review process?
Prem Prakash (PP): We believe in review and meeting Rhythm. We conduct 3 reviews per employee and do not actually wait for monthly or annual reviews. Goal setting happens every month, however, performance review takes place on every 10th, 20th, and 30th of the month.
Monday Ready (MR): Can any opportunities in disguise be seen at this current time of Global Slowdown?
Prem Prakash (PP): Yes, everything is going to come down to India s an opportunity. We are game for grabbing it at the earliest. Also, the cost management aspect has been at the top of the priority list of every employee working here. COVID-19 situation is going to help us better our expense management and would reflect in our bottom-line as well.

Monday Ready (MR): What is your advice to the managers & team leaders across organizations in the current scenario?
Prem Prakash (PP):
- Set small goals with enough SMARTNESS, achieve it, and move forward.
- Go that extra mile to meet your objectives. Keep your reserves untouched ,.
- Your today’s team may not be the same for tomorrow, so look for alternatives and keep exploring it.
- Cut costs, forget about luxury. Work for survival for at least the next 18 months.
